#12 bruce

I based this painting of a photograph of my aunt's dog named Bruce who has passed away about two years ago. I drew it in photoshop, and started painting it using different opacities. This time I took the line drawing off, to force myself to do a tighter painting. I did this in about an hour.

I did another wushu gesture study in approximately 40 minutes. I think this one turns out better than before cause I used thinner line for the drawing.

#10 wushu

I was very inspired by the dynamic poses from wushu figure drawing session I attended last Friday, and decided to paint one of the poses. Something quick and gestural. Playing with different opacity of the brush, a new technique I just learned from Sy :) thanks.

#9 spatula part3

It looks kinda flat :( I should really learn how to do better value transition. I still like it even though it doesn't look as real as it should be. Total time spent was nine hours.

#10 Knife

So busy lately, I am sorry to say that I really have no excuse of not doing one post a day. I will start doing them even if I don't sleep. I am currently getting 4 hours sleep a day. Any ways this knife too a very long time. I spend a total of 5 hrs on it. I will fix it tomorrow along adding background. See you all soon. I really had a blast exploring with photoshop.

#8 spatula part2

I spent another four hours on this. I can't restrict myself to an hour this time, since this is an assignment and it has to look finished. This version is not finished yet, but I thought it will be nice to see progress. I have added environment to it, and started to clean up the edges of the spatula. I have till midnight tomorrow to finish this. Hope it will turn out well.

#7 spatula part1

I missed a lot of days of posting already.. :( Anyways, today I painted spatula for Courtney's class, so I thought might as well post it here. This is what I got so far in an hour. I'm gonna add environment around it, clean up the edge and transition in the next two days..
