Something different again today :) This time I looked at reference from a picture I took (or was it my sister??) at Hakone Garden in Saratoga. This time I did not paint on top of the photograph, cause every time I do that, the painting turns out kinda stiff. I drew it using pencil tool, and then painted it with bright and happy colors :) Fixed the value of the background a bit by adjusting brightness and contrast to give a better sense of depth..
Hi <3 I saw your post and I have to say it's really nice. Although when I look at it, I feel it's still a bit flat and the color seems a bit dull. I couldn't help but editing your piece instead of doing my own photoshop. It was fun trying to edit some of your stuff. I masked, repaint it, add contrast and mix some interesting color. Although it's not completely finish, maybe you can fix the rest of it or leave it. Well good night and I hope you like it.
ReplyDeleteP.s I am very proud of you for taking a new appoarch, good job on trying something new.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the feedback <3 Yea, I realized about the flatness too, but I thought it made the painting looked stylized, hehe.. Yea, I could have explored more with the color, cause I was still following the color from the photograph pretty closely. I like the colors you used for the foreground in your first edit; I like the overall color choices on your second edit (makes it look like fall season); I don't like the third edit that much though.. brown water is not pretty, hehe..
